La Fustera Apartment is in a pleasant, largely residential area but within a short walk or drive, there’s so much to see & do!
If you like to explore then The Ecological Walk of Benissa is a must. It’s an easy 3.5km trail that starts at Benissa Beach Tourist info at Aula de la Mar and finishes at the outdoor gym (not compulsory!) at Cala de Baladrar.
With lots of information panels along the way, it’s a great way to discover the local natural & cultural heritage and the starting point is only a 3 minute drive away.
Calpe is a delightful coastal resort town known for its beaches and the nearby Roman site of Baños de la Reina with its rock-cut sea pools. A walk around the old town also a must for visitors.
And on a headland to the east, lies Peñón de Ifach, a huge limestone rock with thriving birdlife. Below it, you’ll find the ruins of Pobla de Ifac, a medieval walled village. La Muralla Roja is an iconic castle-like building by modern Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill.
The ‘Iglesia de la Purissima Xiqueta‘ (Immaculate Conception) Cathedral in the town of Benissa was built in 1929 and is built in a gothic style with three naves and a stunning central dome.
In regular use but visitors are welcome. There’s a convenient pay & display car park by the front door and lots of nice little cafés to relax in afterwards.
Head northwards along the coast to the picturesque & upmarket Puerto de Moraira & neighbouring marina.
Portet Cove is just one of many great watersports locations along this coastal strip and there’s even three golf courses here to improve your handicap.
